In the picture above, V is wearing an extra special bow-tie.
V’s bow-tie represents the bowing approach needed for spiccato. 
Remember — Spiccato is the technique of bouncing the bow from note to note, in alternate directions. (Down-Up-Down-Up, etc.)

Controlling spiccato is achieved by approaching the string, as if drawing the letter V. This V-shape motion helps you to create and control crisp, spiccato bow strokes. The result is StaccatoSpiccato!

Please take a moment and look at the arrows in V’s picture above. The arrows show each bow direction’s angle of approach to the string needed to perform continuous spiccato notes. 
When practicing the workout below, allow your bow-wrist to remain flexible.
Begin on the string, directing the bow to bounce from note to note by drawing V-shaped motions.
Practice the workout on each string, at all tempos.
Focus on perfecting precise, controlled, crisp and rhythmic spiccato.
